Congratulations, Andersen Press!

Andersen Press has been awarded the Bologna Prize for the Best Children’s Publisher of the Year! The prize is given to publishers from six geographical areas of the world every year: Africa, Central and South America, North America, Asia, Europe, and Oceania. Andersen Press claimed the prize in the European category this year, and it is the first publisher from the UK to receive the award.
London-based Andersen Press has produced quality children’s books since 1976, and its books have received international acclaim. Lerner Publisher Services is proud to distribute Andersen Press titles, bringing beloved characters like Elmer the Patchwork Elephant and the Little Princess to children in the United States.
The prize, according to Bologna’s website, is given to publishing houses “who have most distinguished themselves for their creative and publishing excellence over the year, showing originality as well as professional and intellectual skills.”
Klaus Flugge, the founder of Andersen Press, was given the award on April 4, the first day of the Bologna Children’s Book Fair. See Bologna’s official press release on the award here.
We are thrilled to congratulate Andersen Press on this prestigious award, a perfect recognition of the great work that they have done over forty years.
