Winter Fun

Just for fun, and in celebration of the gorgeous snowfalls Minnesota winters always bring, here’s a kid-friendly quatrain poem (a poem that has four lines in each stanza) by Trudi Strain Trueit from our book What Is Poetry? (cover pictured below).

First Snowfall
“Pardon me, Teacher?”
No talking, I know.
“Just look! Outside!
It’s starting to snow!”

Hurry up, recess.
I’ve got a plan.
I’ll use every flake
to build a snowman.

Happy Winter, everyone!
