Publishers put a lot of care into making sure their ebooks look just right. But many ereaders and apps automatically apply their own design and fonts to ebooks. Fortunately, these ereaders and apps also have settings to return to the publisher’s original design.

For optimal viewing, we suggest these settings on your ereaders:

iPad, iPhone, iBooks app:
Go to iBooks settings and:
• Turn off  “Auto-hyphenation”
• Turn off “Full Justification”
• Turn on “Online Content”
In each individual book, click on Aa and select:
• Original font

Nook:
In each individual ebook, click on the Aa text button and:
• Make sure the “Publisher Defaults” box is checked

Turn on Publisher Defaults.

Kindle and Kindle app:
• Turn off  “Auto-hyphenation”
• Turn off “Full Justification”

Kobo:
In each individual ebook, click on the Aa text button and:
• Turn off “Justification”
• Make sure the “Kobo Styling” box is checked (this affects display of footnotes).

Google Play:
Unlike other ereading apps, Google Play offers a single ebook as both reflowable and fixed layout instead of purchasing two ebooks. If you want to view how the print book appeared, go to each individual ebook, click on the Aa text button and:
• Under View, select “Original pages”
