Free Book Friday: A Rock Can Be…

It’s Free Book Friday: National Poetry Month Edition! Enter to A Rock Can Be…, written by Laura Purdie Salas and illustrated by Violeta Dabija, a picture book in rhyme about the many uses of rocks.

Rocks may seem like boring, static objects—until you discover that a rock can spark a fire, glow in the dark, and provide shelters of all shapes and sizes. Laura Purdie Salas’s lyrical rhyming text and Violeta Dabija’s glowing illustrations show how rocks decorate and strengthen the world around them.

Also, Laura Purdie Salas, author of A Rock Can Be…, is a Minnesota Book Award finalist for Water Can Be… The title was featured on The Friends of the St. Paul Library’s blog yesterday. We wish Laura the best of luck!

If you’d like to win  A Rock Can Be…, please leave a comment on this post (including your first and last name), or tweet this line: Free Book Friday! RT to win A ROCK CAN BE by @LauraPSalas from @LernerBooks.  bit.ly/1OrSN
