Everyone welcome Photo Editor Manager Cynthia Zemlicka to the Lerner blog! Today she gives us a brief introduction to the daily work life of a photo editor.

Life as a photo editor is usually quiet. We diligently work at our computers, searching for perfect images. A brush with adventure is usually in the form of correspondence with a photographer who has had amazing experiences in exotic locations. Then, once in a while, we go out on a photo shoot. One of my favorites was at an ice cream factory. Fans of TV programs like How It’s Made or the book Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory will understand the appeal of such a trip. While we didn’t see any Oompa Loompas, seeing how ice cream is made and photographing the process was an awesome adventure.
