Hey, you crazy kids! I know it’s been a while since you’ve gotten any updates on what’s happening in the internet, and you’re perhaps a little antsy. It’s totally understandable. But you can relax, I’m back. And I have a pretty good reason for being gone:

So for my Thanksgiving blog post, I decided to try and list my top 10 Thanksgiving TV episodes of all time. Unfortunately, I could only think of 2 off the top of my head, and I don’t have time to watch a bunch of 80’s sitcoms. I decided just to google it and rank other people’s lists of top 10 Thanksgiving TV episodes instead. (To be fair, regurgitating junk I find online is my entire schtick anyway, right?). So after 10 solid minutes of surfing, I now proudly present to you:
Episodes in this list:
10. “Slapsgiving,” How I Met Your Mother
9. “Thanksgiving,” Felicity
8. “Cliff’s Wet Adventure,” The Cosby Show
7. “A Deep-Fried Korean Thanksgiving,” Gilmore Girls
6. “The One with Chandler in a Box,” Friends
5. “Pangs,” Buffy the Vampire Slayer
4. “Thanksgiving Orphans,” Cheers
3. “We Gather Together,” Roseanne
2. “Shibboleth,” The West Wing
1. “Turkeys Away,” WKRP in Cincinnati
I chose this list because it met all three of my criteria:
- 1. Spans 4 decades of television.
- WKRP’s “Turkeys Away” is #1. Hands down the best Thanksgiving episode ever, from the oldest show on the list. If you haven’t seen this one, it’s worth your time to track it down on hulu.
- Includes Slapsgiving. Since this episode is new enough (2007) that it may still be collecting e-dust in your DVR, I won’t spoil it. But let’s just say there’s some slappin’ going on. Hilarity ensues.
Fun Fact: Felicity was a J.J. Abrams creation.(Does this rationalize excuse my secret love of it?)
